Hidden Door | 2017

Selected for the Visual Art programme of the 2017 Hidden Door Festival in June in Edinburgh.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of kintsugi, this work was a site-specific installation which repaired some of the cracks and fractures in Leith Theatre, using gold to celebrate their own individual beauty and brokenness. Alongside original found objects from the long-neglected site, these imperfections could then be seen as an addition to the building’s continuing story, rather than a flaw.
